Gillian Heitman was born on Ohlone land in what is known today by colonizers as San Francisco. She loves the Bay.

 

She studied Dramatic Art and Sexuality Studies at the University of California, Davis.  She has been working on multiple projects, including both theatre and film.

 

She wrote and directed a staged reading of her "problem comedy", Romeo and Rosaline, has been working on turning it into a musical for years.

 

She also wrote, directed, produced, and starred in "HERo", a parody music video advocating the production of female superhero movies.

 

She has produced a series of monologue shows with a talented group of women and nonbinary artists.

 

As an actor, director, writer, and overall maker she finds her favorite forms of media incorporate the best of drama, comedy, and questioning the status quo to invoke social change.
